Music theory or how music is made

Music theory is basically the toolkit behind how music works—why certain notes sound good together, how chords are built, why some progressions feel emotional, and how rhythm and melody play off each other. It's like the grammar of music.

Instruments

  • Guitar: Start with basic open chords (G, C, D, Em), and use a metronome to build rhythm. Practice switching between chords cleanly.

  • Piano/Keyboard: Learn major and minor scales first. Practice with both hands slowly—don't rush hand independence!

  • Drums: Start with kick-snare-hihat patterns. Focus on timing and groove over complexity.
