International Dessert Day, celebrated annually on October 14th, is a sweet reminder to indulge in our favourite treats and explore the diverse world of desserts. Dessert Day is October 14! No one's sure exactly how the holiday originated, but we do know that desserts go way back. Egyptians in antiquity made their sweets sweet with dates and honey, and pie may have its origins in ancient Greece – the playwright Aristophanes described fruit-filled pastries in his plays. Jalebi is India's national sweet. You can enjoy it at any time of the day, any season and on any occasion. The feeling of having a hot jalebi slathered with cold rabdi melting in your mouth is nothing short of an olfactory orgasm. Be it eaten with curd, milk or just alone nobody says no to jalebi.
