World Book Day is celebrated worldwide on 23 April every year.  World Book Day, which has been celebrated since 1995, aims to promote and publicize the importance of reading, publishing, and copyright. 

The idea of celebrating World Book Day was first conceived by Valencian writer Vicente Clavel Andrés.
