Rakesh Khatri, known as the "Nest Man of India," is a passionate environmentalist dedicated to conserving and nurturing bird populations in urban landscapes. With deep concern for the dwindling numbers of birds due to habitat loss and urbanization, Mr Khatri began crafting eco-friendly nests from materials like coconut shells, bamboo, and jute. Over the years, he has built more than 200,000 nests and installed them across India, offering safe habitats for sparrows, robins, and other small birds. His efforts extend beyond nest-making; Mr Khatri actively conducts workshops for children and communities, teaching them how to create these nests and fostering awareness of the importance of bird conservation. Recognized nationally and internationally for his work, Rakesh Khatri's mission highlights the role individuals can play in restoring ecological balance, especially in rapidly urbanizing regions.
