Plastic pollution is one of the biggest threats to our planet today, but we cannot just wait for others to fix it. Over the last month, I decided to take responsibility for the plastic waste in my own home.Instead of throwing away single-use plastic bottles and containers, I started separating them into a dedicated recycling bin. I learned that clean plastic is much easier to recycle, so I make sure to rinse out every container before sorting it. For items that cannot be recycled locally, I have started using them for creative upcycling—like turning plastic bottles into small plant pots for my balcony garden.Taking this small action made me realize how much waste we generate daily. By making a conscious choice to reduce, reuse, and recycle, every student can help protect our environment. Let's make our schools and homes plastic-free zones!
