The Gateway of India is a famous historical monument located on the waterfront at Apollo Bunder in Mumbai, Maharashtra. It was built in the 20th century, with its foundation stone laid in 1913 to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary. The 26-meter-high (85 feet) structure was completed in 1924, designed in the Indo-Saracenic style with yellow basalt.
