Other uses of air

Air is important in other ways too. It helps in the pollination of several flowers and dispersal of seeds. It plays an important role in the water cycle. It prevents very high day temperature and very low night temperature on the earth

Air pollution and its control

Air pollution is mainly caused by the release of smoke and poisonous gases from factories and vehicles. Fuels, such as coal or oil are burnt in a factory or when petrol or diesel are burnt in vehicles, the poisonous gasses given out pollute the air. Some methods of controlling air pollution are :- 

Planting trees

Installing air pollution control devices

Using smokeless fuels

Using electric vehicles
