🌍 SDGs: What I learnt After Trying to Follow Them

After writing about the Sustainable Development Goals earlier, I started paying more attention to how these goals appear in daily life. I realized that SDGs are not just big global ideas — they are actually things we can notice around us every day.

✨ Small Actions Make a Big Difference

In the last few weeks, I tried to follow some SDGs myself. For example:

I began turning off lights when leaving a room.

I started carrying my own water bottle instead of buying plastic ones.

I helped my family separate dry and wet waste at home.

These were small steps, but they made me feel responsible and aware.

📘 SDGs in My School

I also noticed how my school supports the SDGs:

Teachers encourage us to save paper and write on both sides of our notebook sheets.

We have dustbins for different types of waste.

We are taught to respect everyone, which relates to goals on equality and peace.

This made me understand that the SDGs are not just for adults — schools and students also play an important role.

🌱 Why This Matters to Us

As students, we are the future of our planet. If we learn these values now, we will grow up as responsible citizens. SDGs teach us to care for nature, support other people, and work together for a cleaner, safer world.

💡 What I Want to Do Next

I want to take my learning further. My next small goals are:

Planting at least one new plant every month

Reducing plastic in my lunchbox

Encouraging my friends to join clean-up activities

Learning more about renewable energy

These goals may seem simple, but if everyone tries, the impact will be huge.

🌟 Conclusion

This journey helped me realise that SDGs are not just “global plans” — they are habits we can build. I hope more students start following them, so together we can protect our planet and create a better future
