What is World Suatainable Transport Day?

World Sustainable Transport Day, is celebrated on 26 Novenber, is a special occasion to reflect and make transport safer, more efficient,more sustainable and greener.

How did it come about?

The UN General Assembly adopted the resolution to designate a UN World Sustainable Transport Day At its 77th session in May 2023. The resolution followed IRU's initial proposal to have a dedicated World Transport Day.

Which modes of transport are sustainable?

All modes can be safe, efficient and green, getting us to school, work and to see friends, while keeping us fed, healthy and supplied with life's essentials.
