I know that feeling. Watching that plastic bottle rolling on the ground, and knowing it's just gonna go into the dustbin and then to the Earth. You can't do anything. Right? Wrong.

My name is Manas Taran and I'm going to show you how to stop those plastic bottles from walking towards its harmful destiny. You can let it reach its full glory.

• The Respiratory System

Materials: tape/glue, plastic bottle, straw, three balloons

I know how absurd this sounds. A Respiratory System? Yeah, you read it correct. It's really helpful, with the diaphragm included (No ribcage yet!). This can help you get some extra credit.

Step 1• Take a straw and bend one-fourth of the straw. Now cut a hole at the bending point big enough to fit another straw.

Step 2• Cut one-fourth of the straw from the longer end and attach it to the hole you made at the bending point. You can use tape or glue.

Step 3• Take two red (or any color) balloons and cut the tips (the thick part through which you blow). Now attach these balloons to the two straws emerging from the bending point with either tape or glue.

Step 3• Take your plastic bottle and cut it at the first line from the downwards surface.

Step 4• Now, cut a hole through the cap big enough to fit a straw and take the straw and balloon mechanism you made and slowly enter this mechanism from the downwards open surface. Make sure the longer end of the mechanism goes through the hole.

Step 5• Take a large or medium sized balloon of a different color and cut the tip. Now stretch the balloon to make it cover the open downwards surface of the plastic bottle and attach it with tape or glue.

Congratulations! You have officially made a working model of the Respiratory System and also stopped a small bit of plastic from harming the Earth.
