“Nature provides a free lunch, but only if we control our appetites” – William Ruckelshaus

Nature is the lifeline of our planet. From the oxygen we breathe to the water we drink, everything that sustains us comes from nature. Forests, rivers, mountains, and oceans are treasures that not only support life but also add beauty and peace to our world. Yet, in the race for development, we have been exploiting these resources beyond their limits. Deforestation, pollution, climate change, and loss of biodiversity are warning signs that nature is under threat.

It is our responsibility as students and citizens to protect and preserve the environment. Simple actions like planting trees, saying no to plastic, conserving water, and using public transport can make a huge difference. Schools can also play an important role by organising eco-clubs, tree-planting drives, and awareness campaigns. If each one of us takes small steps, together we can bring about a big change.

As young minds and future leaders, we must remember that saving nature means saving ourselves. A healthy environment ensures a healthy life. Let us pledge to respect, protect, and restore nature—not just for us, but for the generations to come.
